Aamir Khan regrets not spending enough time with Ira-Junaid, now meets them every week

NEW DELHI : Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has said that he regrets not spending enough time with his kids – daughter Ira Khan and son Junaid Khan. He said he thought about it only last year, when he did a lot of introspection during the pandemic-induced shutdown.
Aamir Khan appeared on Koffee With Karan season 7 and spoke about his family, films and more, along with his Laal Singh Chaddha co-star Kareena Kapoor.

Talking about balancing time with family and his ex-wives Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, Aamir said- A year ago, I went through a lot of introspection. I started working at the age of 18, I devoted my whole life to work. I felt I didn’t nurture my relationships like my work. I realized that I didn’t spend that much time with Ira and Junaid when they were kids. Now, in the past months, I am a changed person. I connect more with my family, my kids, Kiran’s parents, Reena’s parents, my mother, sister and brother. I prefer to spend more time with him at the cost of my work. But at the time, I was very obsessed with following what I was doing.
Asked if he was sorry for it, Aamir agreed and said- I would have liked to spend more time even at the cost of all this.
When Karan reminded Aamir that he had said that he valued his audience more than his family, the actor said- Reena and Kiran are wonderful people so we didn’t have bitter moments in our relationship. I have the highest regard and respect for Kiran and Reena. We will always be a family. The four of us – Reena, Kiran, Ira, Junaid – we meet once every week.

Kareena also talked about having a beautiful relationship with husband Saif Ali Khan’s kids – Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan from their first marriage. When Karan talked to Ibrahim about the ease of talking to Kareena, he looked at her face in surprise and said – it is so. I don’t know why it is talked about so much.
