Mumbai: On the 14th anniversary of popular television serial ‘Pavitra Rishta’, actress Ankita Lokhande, who played the iconic character Archana in the show on Wednesday, said she still feels connected to her ‘first child’. ‘Pavitra Rishta’ aired from June 2009 to October 2014. It is an adaptation of the Tamil television series Tirumathi Selvam. Along with Ankita, the show starred late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who played the role of the lovable Manav.
In late 2018, and later in 2020 after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, the series was re-aired. A web series titled ‘Pavitra Rishta – It’s Never Too Late’ aired from September 2021, with Ankita Lokhande reprising her role as Archana and Shayer Sheikh Manav.
Ankita took to Instagram, where she shared a clip of all her looks from the show and wrote: “14 years of holy relationship and still feeling so fresh and connected with my first child.. God for everything Thank you!!”
She added: “And thank you so much @ektarkapoor for believing in me that I can be your Archu and thank you for giving me a new identity as Archana because people who love me during the show when they see me see or meet. Even now, the first name that comes to mind is Archu and I love it so much..”
“Thank you so much to everyone around who have loved and watched this beautiful show called Pavitra Rishta with heart and soul .. I am eternally grateful.”
Fans took to the comments section to share how much they miss Sushant Singh Rajput, who ventured into acting with the show. One wrote: “Sushant is missed every minute.” Another wrote: “Sushant Singh Rajput is missing your video plz a picture SSR.”
“Missing Sushant,” said another. A user said that he is missing Manav, Sushant’s character from the show. “Still feeling so fresh but missing the sushi,” one fan wrote.
