Bad Boy Review: Namoshi and Ameerin win hearts in their first film, Santoshi stuck in the past becomes the film’s weak link

In the year 1985, Mithun Chakraborty and Padmini Kolhapure’s film ‘Pyaar Jukta Nahi’ was a super hit. The story of the film is a love story between a poor boy and a girl from a rich family, in which the girl’s father tries till the end to create a misunderstanding between the two. The film ‘Bad Boy’ also has the same DNA. The boy here is the son of a scrap dealer. Beti is the daughter of a quality controller for whom ‘high quality and high standards’ are everything in life. Here, before misunderstandings arise, the hero finds their answers with his wits. The story is written by Rajkumar Santoshi himself. The background is from Karnataka. The girl’s family is Bengali. And, boy does he look like Tapori from Mumbai. The story of the film is at least 30 years old to appeal to the New Millennials.

Well, despite a weak story, Rajkumar Santoshi has tried to make a film that the entire family can watch at least once. So as much as the actors of the film are praised, the editor of the film is also praised. The film’s packaging may have been redone, with graphics used in between. And, the problems that were left during the shooting have also largely been overcome due to this. Steven Barnard and his team deserve credit for this. As far as Santoshi’s direction is concerned, somewhere in the entire film she completely fails to leave her directorial mark. At some point, just by reading his name on the poster, the audience is eager to watch the film, but after ‘Fata Poster Nikla Hero’, his charismatic style is missing, which may affect the film ‘Bad Boy’. Direct damage.

Namoshi, the second son of Mithun Chakraborty, who was a superstar of his era, is starting his career as a hero with the film ‘Bad Boy’. Namoshi prepares better in front of the camera than Mimoh. There is a rhythm to his acting. Somewhere there is a glimpse of the Gemini of the early days. His dialogue delivery looks a little weak in the first part of the film, but aside from comedy, when it comes to serious acting, Namoshi manages to pass the first division. Especially her scenes in the hospital in the climax are noteworthy and these scenes also evoke the anticipation of the days of shame to come. At a time when big artists shy away from lip syncing songs, Namoshi has accepted the challenge in the film ‘Bad Boy’ as well. He is good at dancing and looks even cuter when he dances with his father Gemini.

Apart from the identity of the producer’s daughter, if we look at the film’s producer Sajid and Anjum Qureshi’s daughter Amreen, then according to the debut film, she also impresses. According to the story, she faces challenges in portraying herself as a Sanskari daughter but her sincere efforts are appreciated. His dialogue delivery may seem weak in the scenes after he is injured in the accident, but the first film’s grace marks can be given to him. He has a fresh face and shows signs of improving himself in the coming days. Johnny Lever’s character Poltu has worked hard to carry the film and his entire track also carries the film after the interval. It is not clear why Rajpal Yadav is in the film for only one scene. Saswat Chatterjee and Darshan Jariwala’s clash of egos is a good interlude of the film’s philosophy of life and both leave their respective performances in it.
