The Best Selling Cars That Topped The Market in August 2024
August 2024 witnessed the performances of many SUVs that marked their top spots among best-selling cars. The most active best-selling models include the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Creta, Tata Punch, Mahindra Scorpio, and Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza
Maruti Suzuki Brezza is at the top spot in sales for August 2024. It sold the highest ever for a compact SUV with 19,190 units. The Brezza comes between ₹8.29 lakh to ₹14.14 lakh and can be chosen in petrol as well as CNG variants.
The compact SUV comes with a 1.5-liter unit churning out 103 hp for the petrol. It gives about 20.51 kmpl for petrol and 25.51 km/kg for CNG. It is one of the most versatile vehicles in its category, appealing to both the urban and the rural buyer, based on either 6-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.
Hyundai Creta
Hyundai Creta continues to be a strong contender, selling 16,762 units in August 2024. Featuring premium build and advanced features, it is priced at between ₹11 lakh and ₹20.30 lakh. The Creta is also available with several powertrains, such as 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, and 1.4-litre turbo-petrol units. Thus, it caters to a host of requirements with great flexibility.
The petrol unit delivers a mileage of around 17.4 kmpl, while the diesel version boasts 21.8 kmpl. It is a very popular model with advanced tech features like 10.25-inch infotainment and connected car features among the tech-friendly customers.
Tata Punch
Tata Punch, a compact SUV sold 15,643 units in August. The Punch has now been put on the shelves with a sticker price that ranges between ₹6 lakh and ₹10.20 lakh. The 1.2-liter petrol unit generates 86 hp and gives an efficiency return of 20.09 kmpl.
Tata also offers a CNG variant that returns 26.99 km/kg. A semi-digital instrument cluster and automatic climate control only add more to the Punch’s appeal for price-conscious buyers seeking a reliable, feature-packed car.
Mahindra Scorpio
Mahindra Scorpio remains to be a successful SUV vehicle in the market. The robust vehicle is sold with two variants-the Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic-and was built to please off-road enthusiasts. Altogether, 13,787 units were sold in August 2024.
Depending on the version, this Scorpio offers 2.2-litre mHawk diesel unit or 2.0-litre petrol unit, generating 130-172 hp. Scorpio has rated a mileage of 15-18 kmpl. The SUV is starting from ₹ 13.25 lakh, but its ruggedness combined with advanced tech like a 12-speaker system and a 4×4 drivetrain make it one heck of a deal for any adventure-loving driver.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx also retained its position on the top-selling vehicles list by selling as much as 12,387 units in August. This car is available in a price range of ₹7.46 lakh to ₹13.13 lakh and comes with a futuristic crossover design and two engine variants: 1.2-liter petrol and 1.0-liter turbo petrol.
The fuel efficiency is around 21.5 kmpl, and this car has features like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a heads-up display, and a 360-degree camera. It’s one of those stylish and performance-driven sub-compact SUVs that attract the youth segments where one wants style without overspending.
