Chamkila teaser out: Diljit Dosanjh transforms into singer Amar Singh Chamkila, debuts his no-turban look

Mumbai: The first teaser of Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra’s film ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ was released by the makers on Tuesday (May 30). Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film presents an interesting story of popular Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila. It is Diljit’s turbanless look that has created curiosity among cine buffs. The makers have opted for a direct OTT release for their film. ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ will stream on OTT platform Netflix in 2024.

Taking to Instagram, OTT platform Netflix dropped the teaser and wrote, “Jo naam salon se aapke dil aur samaan pe chhaya hai woh ab apke samne aya hai. The untold story of Punjab’s highest selling record artist Amar Singh #Chamkila Watch. Coming soon only on Netflix!

The teaser was launched with a warm welcome at an event by Amar Singh Chamkila. She is being portrayed as a shining star who rules the hearts of her fans. The scene then shifts to Diljit Dosanjh on stage, welcoming the audience with a catchy song playing in the background. The biopic also stars Rahul Mitra in the lead role.

The film presents the untold true story of Amar Singh Chamkila, the original rock star of the Punjabi people, who rose from the shadows of poverty to reach the heights of fame in the 80s due to the sheer power of his music, which led to many successes along the way. had enraged all the people, which eventually led to his assassination at the young age of 27. A top record-selling artist of her time, Chamkila is still considered one of Punjab’s finest live stage performers. Soon after the makers unveiled the teaser, fans flooded the comments section with red hearts and fire emotions.
