Commonwealth Games 2022 Gold Medal Champion Wrestler Sakshi Malik Success Story – Cwg: Wrestlers dress well, so they turned away from gymnastics, this is how wrestling won gold

India’s veteran wrestler Sakshi Malik has once again illuminated the name of the country. He has won gold medal for India in Commonwealth Games. Sakshi defeated Anna Godinez Gonzalez of Canada in the women’s 62kg final. This is Sakshi’s third medal at the Commonwealth Games. Earlier, he had won silver in Glasgow (2014) and bronze in Gold Coast (2018). She was successful in winning bronze in the Rio Olympics (2016).

There was a special reason behind Sakshi Malik becoming a wrestler. He dreamed of becoming a wrestler only because he liked the clothes of wrestlers. Sakshi, who used to wrestle only for dress 15 years ago, would reach such a height, it was never even thought by the family members. The family members are a bit hesitant in making the daughter a wrestler, but when Sakshi Malik expressed her desire to play in front of her mother Sudesh, she took him to the Chhotu Ram stadium 15 years ago.

There Sakshi was asked to play gymnastics, but she flatly refused. Then the athletes and players of many other sports were shown and finally Sakshi was brought to the wrestling hall. There Sakshi liked the dress of the wrestlers, so she expressed her desire to play wrestling. Sakshi’s mother Sudesh told that at that time Sakshi liked the dress of wrestlers and she had said that this dress is good, so she will also fight wrestling.

Sudesh told that at that time I felt that if the daughter wants, then let her play, as long as the mind will keep playing. Then one day I told Sakshi that she should do any work, but do it with hard work. Be it studies or wrestling. Perhaps from that day Sakshi never looked back. After that Sakshi won gold in Sub Junior Asian Championship at a very young age. The family also began to feel that their daughter had chosen the right sport.

Sudesh said that after this, Sakshi created history by winning silver in Commonwealth Games and bronze in Rio Olympics. For this achievement, Sakshi Malik received the Khel Ratna and was also awarded the Padma Shri. Now that he is married, Arjuna Awardee wrestler Satyawart Kadian is his companion. Sakshi has now brought laurels to the country by winning her third medal in the Commonwealth Games.
