Malware attacks are very common in Android phones. Every few days, Google removes apps containing malware from its Play Store. The app is screened even before the app is published on Play Store but all efforts to block malware apps are going in vain. A few days ago two-three apps were removed from the Play Store due to this and now again there is news of malware being found in more than 100 apps.

Dr. The Web has released a report in partnership with BleepingComputer, which claims that there are currently more than 100 mobile apps on the Google Play Store that contain malware. According to the report, these apps contain malware called ‘SpinOK’. The total downloads of the 100 apps containing this malware have exceeded 400 million.

The report states that it is a Trojan malware. It has an advertising SDK. It lures users with rewards and shows greedy ads. Apart from this, this malware also steals the user’s personal data. This data is sent to the remote server.

SpinOk is designed to engage the user. It shows mini-games to users through the app, explains the system’s functions and promises rewards. Apps affected by this malware have been downloaded 421,290,300 times.
