Theni (Tamil Nadu). Arikomban, a wild elephant that was brought to the Periyar Tiger Reserve in Kerala last month, attacked a man and damaged property in Kumbum area of Theni district on Saturday.
A video of a wild elephant has gone ‘viral’ on social media, in which it can be seen running around in the area. Municipal Corporation officials have asked people to stay indoors.
Officials said the elephant attacked a person and the injured person, identified as Palraj, is undergoing treatment at a government hospital. Local MLA N Irmakrishnan raised the issue with forest department officials and he was Discussed to control and send back to Periyar Sanctuary.
