The Kia EV9 is the company’s second electric model in India after the EV6, and this is an all-electric luxury SUV built on Kia’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). It’s a dual-motor, all-wheel drive affair that churns out an impressive 378 bhp and 700 Nm of torque. Having got 0-100 kmph on its side in just 5.3 seconds and an ARAI-certified range of 561km on a single charge, the EV9 quite clearly stands as a great proposition for electric vehicle adoption.
The battery pack will be a 77 kWh version, with fast-charging support of up to 350 kW, thereby requiring only 24 minutes to charge from 10 – 80%. Interior twin 12.3-inch displays, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 14-speaker Meridian audio, Level 2 ADAS, 10 airbags, 360-degree camera, a suite of driver-assistance features, and more are offered as standard features.
Price and Availability
The most expensive electric vehicle in India from Kia, the EV9 is estimated to be priced at โน1 crore. The Carnival will also carry a premium tag, reportedly around โน50 lakh. From now on, both are readily available in the market as CBUs. Thus, those prices would include the component of import costs.
With promises of innovation, luxury, and high-tech features from the Kia Carnival and the Kia EV9, these will add some excitement for premium buyers in India. With the emphasis on spacious comfort, the Carnival offers wide options for the consumer, while with cutting-edge electric performance, the EV9 is all set to take a well-deserved space from Kia’s growing presence in the EV segment.
