Maharashtra: Bhang worth Rs 8.30 lakh recovered from a car in Thane, two arrested

Thane (Maharashtra). In Maharashtra’s Thane district, police have seized 41 kg of ganja worth Rs 8.30 lakh from a car and arrested two people in this connection. An official gave this information on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off, the police laid a trap and intercepted a car in which two people were traveling at Rajnoli Junction in Bhiwandi area on Saturday evening, Senior Police Inspector Sachin Gaikwad said.

The police recovered ganja worth Rs 8.30 lakh from the car and arrested both of them. The police also seized two mobile phones and the car. According to the official, the police identified the accused as Prasad Santosh Chauwale (26). Kiran as Bhaktya Konda (27).

He said that a case related to the prevention of narcotics has been registered against the accused under the provisions of the NDPS Act.
Currently, the police are trying to find out where the accused used to bring these drugs and to whom they were going to sell them.
