Maruti Suzuki’s First Electric Car e-Vitara Launched in India: Range, Features, and Price

India’s largest automobile company Maruti Suzuki has introduced its first all-electric SUV e-Vitara at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This SUV comes with modern design, powerful battery and great features.
Design and Interior

The look and feel of e-Vitara is quite different from traditional Maruti cars. Many modern elements have been added to its design:
- Dimensions: 4,275×1,800×1,635 mm (length x width x height) and wheelbase is 2,700 mm. It has a ground clearance of 180 mm and weighs up to 1,900 kg.
- Exterior: Its look is attractive and modern with Y-shaped LED DRLs, LED headlamps, blackout grille, silver cladding and 18-inch alloy wheels. The side profile features body-coloured front door handles and hidden handles for the rear doors.
- Interior: The design inside gives a premium feel. It has features like flat-bottom two-spoke steering, dual screen setup (10.1-inch instrument cluster and 10.25-inch infotainment screen), automatic climate control, wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, electronic parking brake, and ventilated seats.
Battery Pack and Range

The Maruti e-Vitara has two battery pack options:
- 49 kWh battery pack: It generates 144 hp of power and 189 Nm of torque. However, the company has not yet officially given information about the range of this variant.
- 61 kWh battery pack: It comes with 174 hp of power and 189 Nm of torque and is claimed to offer a range of up to 500 km on a single charge.
- 4WD variant: It comes with a dual-motor setup, which produces 184 hp of power and 300 Nm of torque. This variant has an e-AllGrip all-wheel drive system, which has separate motors on both the front and rear axles. This variant also claims a range of 500 km.
Price and Variants
Although Maruti has not yet revealed the official price of the e-Vitara, the starting variant is expected to start at Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom). At the same time, the top variant, which includes a larger battery pack and 4WD system, can be priced around Rs 26 lakh (ex-showroom). The mid-level variant will maintain a balance between features and price.
Safety Features

Safety has also been given special attention in the e-Vitara. It has features like seven airbags (standard in all variants), 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD and Level 2 ADAS. The ADAS system includes technologies such as adaptive cruise control and collision warning.
Booking and Delivery
Maruti has not revealed the booking and delivery dates. But according to reports, the sale of this electric SUV can start by March 2025.
