Ujjain. The body of a four-year-old girl, who went missing two days ago while playing outside the house in Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh, has been found in a bag near the drain. A police officer said that the body was found on Wednesday evening.
Police have detained three people. These people told the police that the girl reached their hideout and drowned in the water tank there. On interrogation, the three said that they threw the body near the drain fearing to be responsible for the girl’s death.
Ujjain Superintendent of Police (SP) Sachin Sharma told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ over phone that according to preliminary investigation, it appears to be a case of accidental drowning.
He said that no injury marks or signs of sexual abuse were found on the body of the girl found on Wednesday evening. He said that the girl went missing while playing outside her house in Kamal Colony under Chimanganj police station area on Tuesday evening. , whose dead body was found by Jiwaji. Sharma said, “According to the preliminary investigation, no injury marks or sexual assault marks have been found on the body. A team of doctors is conducting the post-mortem. The cause of the girl’s death will be known when the post-mortem report comes.” He said that it would be too early to reach any conclusion. We have detained three persons and in the preliminary investigation it is a case of accidental drowning.
The three men told the police that the girl came to their house while playing and drowned in a tank at their place. The three threw the body near the drain fearing that they would find the girl, an official said. The SP said that the girl and the three prisoners belonged to the same community. Asked about reports of tension among the locals after the body was recovered, Sharma said that there is sympathy among the people for the girl, which is natural. In such cases people assume it to be a case of murder or rape and react accordingly.
