Internet desk. The new Parliament was inaugurated by PM Modi on Sunday. He said that this new parliament building is a reflection of the dreams of 140 crore citizens. Several programs were organized on the occasion of the inauguration. During this time religious gurus of all religions were present. On the other hand, the special Pandits of Tamil Nadu inaugurated the new building by performing pooja.
What is in the new parliament building?
BJP’s Organization Minister BL Santosh tweeted some glimpses of the new Parliament. He wrote that it is not just a building. It is going to take forward the proud civilization of India.
Constitution Hall is built in the center of the building. Above it is an Ashoka pillar. It was told that a copy of the constitution will be kept in this hall. Along with this, large pictures of Prime Ministers of the country including Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose have also been installed.
How many seats are there in the new parliament building?
The new Parliament House has 888 seats in the Lok Sabha and the Visitors’ Gallery has a seating capacity of over 336 people. The new Rajya Sabha has 384 seats and the visitors’ gallery has a seating capacity of over 336 people. More than 1272 MPs can sit together in the Lok Sabha itself during the joint session of both houses.
The sandstone has gone from Rajasthan
For the construction of the new parliament building, sandstone has been procured from Saramthura in Rajasthan and teak wood from Nagpur in Maharashtra. The carpet is sourced from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh and the bamboo flooring is sourced from Agartala, the capital of Tripura.
Ashoka icon from Aurangabad-Jaipur
The Ashoka symbol has been obtained from Aurangabad in Maharashtra and Jaipur in Rajasthan. Ashoka Chakra is derived from Indore in Madhya Pradesh. On the other hand, according to media reports, the white marble stones have been bought from Jaisalmer and Ambaji in Lal Lakh, Rajasthan. The saffron green stone is sourced from Udaipur.
