Famous Malayalam actor Harish Pengan passed away at the age of 49

New Delhi: Malayalam actor Harish Pengan, who was suffering from liver ailments, passed away at a private hospital here on Tuesday, film industry sources said.

The 49-year-old actor was admitted to the hospital earlier this month after suffering stomach pain and after some medical tests, it was found that his condition is critical.

Doctors suggested a liver transplant and Pengan’s twin sister agreed to be the donor, but as they did not have Rs 30 lakh for it, the actor’s friends started raising funds. However, Pengan’s health deteriorated and he passed away at 3.25 pm.

The actor is known for films like ‘Maheshinte Pratyakarta’, ‘Shefikinte Santosham’, ‘Honey Bee 2.5’, ‘Vellaripattanam’, ‘Jaane Maan’, ‘Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hai’, ‘Priyan Ottathilanu’, ‘Jo and Jo’. is , and ‘Minal Murali’.

The actor’s last rites will be held here on Wednesday, his family said.
