Mumbai: Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan-directed feature film ’72 Huron’ will release in Indian theaters on July 7, the makers announced on Sunday. The 2019 film, starring Pawan Malhotra and Aamir Bashir in lead roles, focuses on the consequences of violent extremism.
Chauhan, who also edited the film, said the story was a “sad reminder of the power of manipulation” and “there is an urgent need to address the root causes of terrorism.” “The gradual poisoning of the brain by criminals turns ordinary people into suicide bombers. Producer Gulab Singh Tanwar said that ’72 Hooran’ is the perfect story to show ‘how fictional stories were sold in the name of religion to convert innocent and ordinary people into ruthless terrorists’. Co-producer Ashok Pandit urged the audience to watch the film with a ‘rational mind’.
