Sydney: Australia have included wicketkeeper Jimmy Pearson in the Ashes squad as cover for backup wicketkeeper Josh Inglis.

England will return home after the first Test for the birth of their first child. Alex Curry is Australia’s first-choice wicketkeeper for the World Test Championship final and the five-Test Ashes series against India.

Inglis has been selected as his back-up. Inglis will return to Perth after the first Ashes Test and replace Pearson, who played 65 first-class matches before the second Test.
