PlayStation Launches PS5 30th Anniversary Edition: New Specifications, Price, and Availability
To celebrate the three decades of gaming history, Sony has planned a special edition of the PS5, paying homage to the first one that made it to market all those years ago back in 1994. PS5 30th Anniversary Limited Edition boasts upgraded specs, exclusive designs, and several accessories. Here is everything you need to know.
Specifications and Features
The PS5 30th Anniversary Edition has several performance improvements instead of just a cosmetic one. The flagship model it provides is the PS5 Pro, which boasts a whopping 2TB SSD for much more storage space and quicker loading times, plus overall faster performance. It can also run games at 120fps in 4K resolutions using more enhanced ray tracing. It supports 8K, HDR, and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), ensuring an even smoother play experience on high-end TVs.
To feed the nostalgia beast, the new console looks much like the original PlayStation model, featuring a retro color scheme and even acquiring older symbols. Additionally, it boasts adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, which provides a more immersive gaming experience.
Price and Accessories
PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition costs $999.99. The package contents include the console, a DualSense Edge wireless controller, a charging station, as well as a vertical stand-all under the anniversary design theme. It is packed with a really very special PlayStation poster, along with other fabulous collector’s items, such as custom cable ties.
Other items in the collection are the DualSense controller at $69.99, PlayStation Portal remote player at $219.99, and other accessories.
Availability
This limited edition is only 12,300 units of the PS5 Pro worldwide. Its preorders have been going on since the last days of September 2024 and will officially launch on November 21, 2024.
