Mumbai: Renowned actor Sunil Lahiri, who played Laxman in Ramanand Sagar’s television adaptation ‘Ramayan’, talked about actor Sunny Singh’s portrayal of Laxman in the upcoming film ‘Aadipursh’ directed by Om Raut.

Sunil said, “At this stage, it is very difficult to say anything as the trailer hardly shows anything about Laxman’s character, but I am sure that Sunny is a good actor and will have done justice to the role as he also . previous references to the letter.”

“Any good performance by an actor depends on how his character is constructed by the producers including the writer, director, cinematographer and editor.”

He recalls his days shooting for ‘Ramayana’, which has been running on television since 1987 and narrated by Ashok Kumar.

Sunil said, “When I was shooting for ‘Ramayana’, I had no past reference for Laxman’s character and whatever I have been able to do is because of Sagar Saab’s (Ramanand Sagar) direction. Credit goes to him and the writers of the television serial. I wish ‘Adipurush’ as well as Sunny Singh and the rest of the cast a huge success.”
