At the 2025 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2025), Samsung subsidiary Harman International showcased new technologies for future connectivity, display and infotainment systems. The most eye-catching product among these was a full-size in-car display based on Neo QLED technology, which comes with HDR10+ certification.

Harman’s Ready Display Equipped with Neo QLED Technology

Harman’s new Ready Display system is designed for cars and the screen extends from the steering wheel to the central infotainment console. It uses Samsung’s Neo QLED technology, which provides deep black and high brightness quality like OLED, but at a lower cost.

Due to Mini LED backlight and local dimming zones, this screen gives better picture quality with more brightness. In addition, colors appear with even more depth through quantum dot technology. This screen can also be installed in curved display systems, giving more flexibility in installing it in cars.

Harman’s Ready Display is the world’s first in-car infotainment system to achieve HDR10+ certification. Also, Harman’s audio technology enables it to provide a home theater-like audio-visual experience.

In terms of connectivity, Harman has introduced an advanced telematics control unit (TCU) in collaboration with Qualcomm. It uses Qualcomm Snapdragon Auto 5G Modem-RF Gen 2, which provides satellite connectivity in case of emergency.

This is the industry’s first in-car system that is capable of sending emergency messages using Satellite Network Operator (SNO) coverage. When there is no mobile network around the vehicle, this system can send messages through Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connection.

New Technology Gives a Home Theatre-Like Experience in Cars

This innovation from Harman takes the display and connectivity possibilities in cars to a whole new level. With HDR10+ certification, Neo QLED technology and satellite based emergency features, this system not only enhances the audio-visual experience but also plays an important role in the safety of the driver.

This technology is a unique combination of Samsung’s Neo QLED panel and Harman’s audio expertise, which is a big step towards the connected cars of the future.
