Big information has come out about Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphone Galaxy Z Flip7. The company’s System LSI division has confirmed in its recent earnings call that it is optimizing the Exynos 2500 chip and plans to use it in mobile devices that will be launched in the second half (2H) of 2025. This statement directly indicates that the Galaxy Z Flip7 can be launched with the Exynos 2500 processor.

Galaxy Z Flip7 to Feature Exynos 2500

Recently a report came out about the Galaxy Z Fold7, which said that this phone would be based on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. However, no information was given in that report about the chipset of the Galaxy Z Flip7. But now it is becoming clear from Samsung’s statement that the Exynos 2500 chip can be used in the Galaxy Z Flip7.

However, it is also possible that both the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 will see the company’s in-house Exynos 2500 chipset. Samsung has been working on improving its Exynos processor for the last few years and this time it is expected to have the ability to compete with Snapdragon chipsets.

Galaxy Z Flip FE Can Also Be in the Lineup

This year, Samsung may also launch another new device, the Galaxy Z Flip FE. This device will be equipped with the Exynos 2400e chipset, which will also be seen in the Galaxy S24 FE. According to reports, this chip will be a slightly underclocked version of the Exynos 2400, with only 100MHz lower clock speed on its performance core. Despite this, the performance of this chip will be almost similar to the flagship Exynos 2400.

Samsung’s Exynos 2500 will be based on the new 3nm process node, making it more power-efficient and capable of delivering better performance. While detailed improvements of the Exynos 2500 are yet to be revealed, Samsung is expected to continue its trend of the past two years and deliver a chipset that closely competes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors.

What will the launch timeline be for the new Galaxy Z Series?

Samsung launches new models of its Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series every year in the second half of the year. This year too, it is expected that Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip FE will be introduced around August 2025.

At present, the company has not made any official announcement of these devices, but more information may come out in the coming months. If Exynos 2500 is really seen in Galaxy Z Flip7, then it can prove to be a big step in Samsung’s processor development.

Now it remains to be seen how good the Exynos 2500 proves to be in actual performance and whether it will be able to compete with Snapdragon 8 Elite or not.
