New Delhi: Remembering slain popular singer-politician Sidhu Moosewala on his first death anniversary, Punjab Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa on Monday said millions of people across the world still love him and his songs.
On Twitter, the senior Congress leader said that a year has passed since Moosewala was shot dead at Jawaharke village in Punjab’s Mansa district, his parents are still yearning for justice for their son. “I pay tribute to Shubdeep Singh Sidhu Moosewala on his first death anniversary. On this day last year, Punjab lost one of its precious diamonds, a talented young man, a successful man at a very young age, millions around the world. People love him and his songs even today. It is very sad that the incompetent government of Punjab could not ensure his safety in his own villages and even after a year, Sidhu Moosewalaji’s parents are still seeking justice for their son. Longing for. Will always stand with Sardar Balkaur Singh ji and his family. Black day 29/5 #justiceforsidhumoosewala,” Bajwa tweeted.

Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu also hit out at the Aam Aadmi Party government, saying that his vindictiveness and grave lapses in security have led to his heinous murder.
“A father’s cry for justice has had no effect on the deaf and dumb state government……..their vindictiveness and gross security lapses have led to his heinous murder. There are lessons to be learned, State should investigate this. Instead of sweeping things under the carpet blame father. He fell victim to divisive forces who want to show state in bad light for polarization. Icon @iSidhuMooseWala remembered with heavy heart. Doing…….the legend continues to grow and they will always be in our hearts!!” Navjot Singh Sidhu said in his tweet.
Musewala (28) was shot dead on May 29 last year. The killers fired more than 30 rounds at Moosewala, who was seen by locals in the driver’s seat.
Investigation revealed that Lawrence Bishnoi was the mastermind behind the broad daylight murders.
Musewala had contested on a Congress ticket from Mansa in the last assembly elections but lost to AAP’s Vijay Singla.
