Security personnel were deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incident, officials said. The anti-occupation campaign is being launched by the authorities ahead of the G-20 summit to be held in the national capital later this year.

Officials said that several huts on Bhairon Marg near Pragati Maidan have been removed. Locals who lost their homes refused to talk to reporters. They were seen digging out their belongings from the rubble of the slum.
