Bangkok. India’s Kiran George continued his impressive run to reach the men’s singles quarter-finals of the Thailand Open Super 500 tournament by defeating world number 26 Wang Hong Yeung in straight games here on Thursday.

World No. 59 Kiran defeated her higher-ranked Chinese 21-11, 21-19 in 39 minutes in the pre-quarterfinals.
Kiran has reached the quarter-finals of a BWF World Tour Super 500 event for the first time.

Odisha Open 2022 winner Kiran will face the winner of the match between Hong Kong’s Ng Ka Long Angus and France’s Thomas Junior Popov in the last eight on Friday. In women’s singles, however, former Olympian and three-time world champion Ashmita Chaliha. lost to Spain’s Carolina Marin 18-21, 13-21.
