Ballia (UP). A 40-year-old Sadhu has been arrested for allegedly committing indecent acts and attempting to rape a 10-year-old boy in Baria police station area of ​​Ballia district. The police gave this information on Monday.

According to the police, last Saturday, a 40-year-old monk named Barmeshwar Verma took a 10-year-old boy from a village in Beria police station area with him on the pretext of feeding him jalebi and started performing indecent acts with him. Police Officer (CO) Muhammad Usman said on Monday that a registered case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and POCSO Act was registered against Barmeshwar Verma on Sunday on the complaint of the child’s father. The police arrested the accused Barmeshwar Verma on Sunday itself. He said that the preliminary legal process regarding the matter is being completed.
