The much-awaited IPL 2023 final in Ahmedabad between defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) and MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was postponed due to heavy rain. The high-voltage match at the Narendra Modi Stadium was shifted to Monday, May 29 – a reserve day. The summit had fans on the edge of their seats, however, they were let down at the end of the day as everyone returned home after a delay. Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal was also among the disappointed fans who were ready to watch the final match. The Govinda Mera Naam actor was present at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium for the GT vs CSK match on Sunday, but was left disappointed after it was postponed due to incessant rain.
In a fun take on this, Vicky took to her Instagram story and shared a picture of the stadium with empty seats. He also added a humorous text that caught everyone’s attention. “Rain will wash your sins,” he wrote.
Earlier, the actor was seen meeting former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly and former IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla as they too arrived for the final match. Vicky was also seen talking to some other celebrity guests present at the stadium on Sunday.
The final match of IPL 2023 between CSK and GT was scheduled to start at 7.30 pm on Sunday, May 28. However, rain just before the toss delayed the start of the event. Later, the rain intensified, further delaying the start of the match even as puddles were seen forming on the field. After several hours of waiting, it was finally decided that the match would have to be postponed and the reserve was rescheduled for the day.
Vicky skills on the work front
Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal who recently joined IIFA 2023 has a lot on his hands. Last seen in Govinda Mera Naam, the actor will next be seen in Laxman Utekar’s Zara Hatke Zara Bachke alongside Sara Ali Khan.
He also has Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur in the pipeline, which will release later this year.
