Xiaomi HyperOS 2 Release Schedule: New Features, Compatible Devices, and More
Last month, Xiaomi announced its latest operating system, HyperOS 2, in China. The new update will include a feature that will improve file sharing between Xiaomi smartphones and Apple devices such as iPhones, iPads, and Macs. The improvement, which aims to provide seamless cross-ecosystem compatibility, was recently previewed by the company’s CEO Lei Jun.
What new features will HyperOS 2 offer?
HyperConnect feature: One of the highlights of the new HyperOS 2 is the HyperConnect feature, which Lei Jun introduced through a video on social media platform X. Under this feature, file transfer between Xiaomi smartphones and Apple devices will be done in a single click. The feature automatically detects nearby Apple devices and makes file sharing possible in a matter of seconds.
- AI-enabled lock screen: HyperOS 2 will feature AI capabilities as well as performance improvements, personalized home screen and lock screen options, and visual updates.
- Expanded cross-ecosystem compatibility: HyperOS 2 will not only improve file sharing but also allow Apple’s proprietary file formats, such as Keynote presentations, to be accessed directly on Xiaomi devices.
- Screen mirroring: Jun also confirmed that screen mirroring between Xiaomi smartphones and MacBooks will also be supported.
