Ayan Mukerji’s Ye Jawwani Hai Deewani came as a breath of fresh air in 2013. And, it’s been 10 years since the movie hit the theaters. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Kalki Koechlin in lead roles, the film had a perfect blend of friendship, relationships, adventure, coupled with great music, stunning visuals, and wonderfully crafted dialogues. . On the special day, director Ayan Mukerji shared a note on Instagram. Ayaan announced that Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is his “second child and a piece of his heart and soul”.
On Wednesday, Ayan Mukerji shared a montage featuring some clippings and BTS moments. A divine song can be heard in the background. In the note, the director said that the production of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani gave him “one of the greatest joys of his life and is a source of great eternal pride”. Ayan added that he has not watched the film from start to finish since the day of its release. He said, “But when I’m older and wiser – I think I’ll watch the film at least once a year – because a big part of who I was and how I saw life – is forever captured in this film. !”
Ayan Mukerji has also shared the director’s note. It read, “Also sharing a director’s note in my story that I wrote at the time, which a certain person on my team shared with me a few days ago… and it’s all kind of me. Brings back memories!” Responding to the post, actress Evelyn Sharma, who was a part of the film, wrote, “Forever favourite.” Actor Arjit Taneja wrote, “Favorite and the best!!”
Kalki Koechlin, to mark the day, revealed that Deepika Padukone always had “a dance step for us” that we couldn’t follow. For Ayan Mukherjee, Kalki said, “Ayan Mukherjee, will always ask us uncomfortably personal questions that lead to the best conversations we cherish the memories we’ve gathered here, happy 10 years.”
Ayan Mukerji’s previous film ‘Brahmastra’ was a blockbuster hit. Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan were part of the film.
