Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim to Launch in May, Not January
Samsung has scheduled an Unpacked event for the launch of its much-awaited Galaxy S25 series on January 22, 2025. A new device Galaxy S25 Slim was expected to arrive at this event along with Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. But, according to the latest news, the launch of Galaxy S25 Slim has been postponed till May 2025.
Galaxy S25 Slim Specifications and Features (Expected)
Galaxy S25 Slim is being described as special for its slimness. The thickness of this phone will be only 6.5 mm, which will make it the thinnest model of the S25 series. This phone will be in the category between Galaxy S25 Plus and S25 Ultra.
This device will have a 6.6-inch AMOLED display, which will support 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. In addition, it will use new silicon-carbon battery technology, which can be lightweight and can have a capacity of 4,700mAh to 5,000mAh.
Performance and Camera
The Galaxy S25 Slim may feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, as revealed by a recent Geekbench listing.
The camera setup is expected to include a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom.
Software and Other Features
The Galaxy S25 Slim may come with One UI 7 based on Android 15. RAM and storage options are not yet confirmed, but the device is likely to compete with the iPhone 17 Air, which may launch in September 2025.
