Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed Supercar Debuts with Open Cockpit and F1-Inspired Design

Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed

Mercedes-AMG has launched its first “Mythos Series” supercar, the PureSpeed. The supercar is limited to just 250 units and features an open cockpit, cutting-edge aerodynamic technology and stunning performance capabilities. The PureSpeed โ€‹โ€‹is based on Mercedes-AMG’s cutting-edge racing design concept, replacing the conventional roof, A-pillars and glass windows with the F1 HALO system.

Performance and Engine

Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed Performance

The PureSpeed โ€‹โ€‹is powered by AMG’s 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engine that produces a peak power of 430kW and a peak torque of 800Nm. The supercar is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 315 km/h. It features AMG’s performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system, active roll stabilization, and rear-wheel active steering system.

Design and Aerodynamics

The PureSpeed’s design is inspired by the AMG One, with a tapered engine hood, “shark nose” front face, and dark chrome three-pointed star logo. The body is painted in colours ranging from Le Mans Red to Graphite Grey, reflecting its high-performance style.

The vehicle makes extensive use of carbon fibre materials, keeping its weight light and structure strong. The front features an AMG air intake design and 21-inch rims. The front carbon fibre wheel cover optimises airflow, while the rear wheel cover improves the aerodynamic effect.

PureSpeed โ€‹โ€‹has aerodynamic wings that prevent sideways turbulence. After 80 km/h, its front carbon fibre part extends by 40 mm and the rear wing is adjustable at five different levels.

Safety and HALO System

PureSpeed’s HALO system is a strong frame made of steel, which is attached to the car and provides rollover protection. The HALO includes LED ambient lighting below it and aerodynamic helmets in colors matching the body. These helmets have a built-in intercom system, allowing the driver and co-driver to communicate with each other. The helmets can also be connected to smart devices.

Interior and Features

Mercedes PureSpeed Interior

The interior of PureSpeed โ€‹โ€‹is designed in a dual-tone design of crystal white and black. It has special leather seats and multi-contour design, which provides better side support to the driver. A customised IWC watch with an AMG diamond pattern is placed in the centre of the dashboard. A “1 out of 250” limited number plate on the console signifies exclusivity.

Pricing and Availability

The price of the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed โ€‹โ€‹has not been revealed yet, and it is unclear if the model will be available in all markets. Usually such limited edition cars are sold out in advance, but in the case of this model, there may be a few units available right now.

The PureSpeed โ€‹โ€‹with its F1 HALO system, sharp performance and unique design is a must-have offering not just for tech enthusiasts but also for luxury supercar enthusiasts.
