Sony PS5 Pro Unveiled with Powerful Hybrid RDNA GPU for Enhanced Gaming
Sony has used new technology to make the Pro version of its PS5 even more advanced. The PS5 Pro now uses a hybrid RDNA GPU architecture, making it fully compatible with PS5 game codes.
PS5 Pro Improvements
PS5 Pro chief architect Mark Cerny recently highlighted the features of this new model in a technical seminar. He said that the PS5 Pro has been specially designed to improve the graphics and gaming experience. Its purpose is to make the work of developers easier and provide an advanced experience to gamers.
At the beginning of the development of the PS5 Pro in 2020, Sony focused on its three main improvements:
- More powerful GPU.
- Advanced ray tracing.
- AI-driven upsampling.
Hybrid RDNA GPU
The PS5 Pro uses technology between RDNA 2 and RDNA 3. It includes future RDNA ray tracing technology and customized RDNA architecture, which also supports machine learning. This new technology has greatly improved the graphics and rendering of games.
Hardware Upgrades
The PS5 Pro has been upgraded with GDDR6 system memory, whose bandwidth has been increased from 448GB/s to 576GB/s. In addition, additional low-speed DDR5 memory has also been provided for the operating system, making features such as better super resolution, advanced ray tracing and high rendering resolution possible in games.
FP32 Computing Power
The PS5 Pro’s FP32 floating-point computing power is 16.7 TFLOPS, which is 67% more than that of the PS5. However, the reason for not including RDNA3’s double FP32 design was that it would have to recompile games for the PS5 Pro, which would increase the work of developers.
Improved Gaming Experience
The PS5 Pro’s video memory bandwidth is increased by 28%, and its overall performance is improved by up to 45%. This has a direct impact on the gaming experience, making games feel even more realistic and immersive.
Sony’s PS5 Pro is set to open a new chapter in the gaming world. Its hybrid RDNA technology and graphics upgrades make it an excellent choice for gamers.
