Will the Huawei Mate XT make its way to India? Know its Features, Specifications, Expected Price and Launch date
Huawei Mate XT, the world’s inaugural triple-foldable smartphone has created a significant disturbance in the tech community. Open for pre-order in China, the phone has quickly made a splash for its unique new design. But will consumers in India have the chance to purchase this device? Here is everything we know about features, specifications, expected price, and launch date in India.
Features and Specifications
The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is different with its unique tri-fold design. The Mate XT is a true multi-tasking device discovered in the new form factor. When fully opened it has a flexible 10.2-inch LTPO OLED display, which can fold to 7.9 inches based on user folding, or into a 6.4 cushion formation folding episode. These provide an entertaining setup for media viewing, multi-tasking, or usage in many situations.
The camera hardware consists of a 50 MP primary camera, 12 MP ultrawide camera, and 12 MP periscope telephoto lens, giving a strong photography experience with features including 5.5x optical zoom and stabilizing abilities with OIS. It is equipped with an 8 MP for selfies and video chats.
The device runs on HarmonyOS 4.2 and includes a battery of 5,600mAh and 66W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. The Mate XT has 16 GB of RAM and storage of either 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB storage options. There are no details on the chipset information.
Expected Price in India
The pricing for the Mate XT starts at CNY 19,999, or approximately โน2,35,900 for the 16 GB RAM/256 GB storage base model. The 1TB price can reach CNY 23,999, or approximately โน2,83,100. If it launches in India, we can expect similar pricing in the ultra-premium suite.
Expected Launch Date
At present, there has been no confirmation by Huawei of an official India launch date for the Mate XT. Given that the Mate XT was launched in China in September 2024 and the excitement surrounding the Mate XT, it is reasonable to suspect that Huawei may launch the Mate XT in India in the coming months. Nonetheless, the company’s difficulties with Google services and the Indian local market conditions must be weighed in considering any possible timing of the launch.
The Huawei Mate XT features new technology and a unique design. Though the high price will appeal to a limited number of consumers in the high-end category, I suspect there are consumers who value technology on the leading edge of innovation and are eager to see a launch in India. Stay tuned for further announcements as to whether the Mate XT will be offered in India.
